MegaStation Automated Evidence Storage Systems

The MegaStar MegaStation Automated Evidence Storage Systems (AESS) provides secured access to up to 896 groups of evidence. Items can range in size from 6" to 51' wide x 2" to 10.5" tall x 16" deep. The AESS ranges in height from 9' to 14' and arrive fully assembled ready for service.

System Access
An operator scans (option) his or her employee badge or enters their ID number and pin number on the alphanumeric keyboard to access the system.

Evidence Retrieval
To retrieve evidence, the evidence number or description must be entered. The AESS will rotate to the evidence location and one or multiple doors will open to the appropriate height depending on the size of the evidence.

Evidence Return
The evidence's number must be entered or scanned (option). The system will then index to its designated storage location, the doors will open and the item can be returned.

To accommodate item size variations, more than one door can be opened at once, and door openings can be controlled up to 3 heights (3.25", 5.125", 10"). Adjustable security divider system enables carrier compartments to be configured for a variety of size options. When items need to be returned, only vacant compartments are operator-accessible.

The MediaStation manifests the principles of Universal Design to minimize physical effort such as twisting, bending and tight grasping, providing easy system operation regardless of the user's body size, posture or mobility. Its ergonomic design and operation are fully compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and OSHA regulations, as well as the Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards (UFAS) for forward and side reach, clearance under the work counter, and control accessibility guidelines. For example, the rollout file drawer can be accessed with no more than five pounds of force, and the ADA fixed seating posting board allows easy, natural access to retrieved materials.
